Delhi Capitals registered a dominant 8-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants in their latest IPL clash, successfully chasing a target of 160 with 13 balls to spare.
Winning the toss and electing to field first, Delhi’s bowlers kept a tight grip on the game, with Mukesh Kumar leading the charge. He took 4 wickets for 33 runs, including key dismissals of Mitchell Marsh (45 off 36), Ayush Badoni (36 off 21), and captain Rishabh Pant for a duck.
Lucknow posted 159 for 6 in their 20 overs, with Aiden Markram anchoring the innings with a brisk 52 off 33 balls. Despite a strong start, the middle-order failed to capitalise, with Nicholas Pooran and Abdul Samad falling cheaply.
In response, Delhi openers Abishek Porel and Karun Nair gave a flying start, with Porel smashing 51 off 36 deliveries. After Markram claimed both wickets, KL Rahul (57* off 42) and skipper Axar Patel (34* off 20) stitched an unbeaten 78-run partnership to guide Delhi comfortably home in 17.5 overs.
