The OnePlus 13R is one of the best devices you can buy if you’re looking for a reliable smartphone with flagship-level power without costing as much as a premium flagship. Well, it seems the company is already working on its successor. A recent leak has shed light on key specs for the upcoming OnePlus Ace 6, which is expected to be the Chinese version of the OnePlus 15R.

The OnePlus Ace 6 (or OnePlus 15R) is a device poised to deliver flagship-level power without the top-tier price tag. For those outside China, this is especially relevant, as the Ace series often forms the blueprint for the global “OnePlus R” phones. If history repeats, this means we’re getting an early peek at the OnePlus 15R—yes, OnePlus appears to be skipping “14” and jumping straight to “15R” after the current 13R.

OnePlus 15R leaked specs: Elite performance, super sharp screen

These early details come courtesy of the highly reliable Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS). They shared a set of key specs for the OnePlus Ace 6/OnePlus 15R on Weibo. This early glimpse gives us a glimpse of what to expect from this device. Among the rumored standout features (via: @Gadgetsdata), there is a sharp 1.5K 165Hz flat OLED screen, ensuring incredibly smooth visuals and vibrant colors. So, the devices aim to be ideal for immersive gaming and media consumption.

Biometric security could also see an upgrade with the inclusion of an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The formidable Snapdragon 8 Elite chip will power this new device, according to the report. This makes sense since, historically, the OnePlus R/Ace phones have been performance-centric.

On the photography front, things could remain more or less the same. The OnePlus Ace 6 is said to feature a triple rear camera system consisting of main + ultrawide + telephoto sensors. It’s notable that the Chinese OnePlus Ace 5 series didn’t feature a telephoto sensor in any of its variants. However, the OnePlus 13R boasts a 2x telephoto sensor, especially useful for portraits. We’ll have to wait and see if the next-gen models will also have differences in terms of cameras.

Massive battery

For users who prioritize longevity, the rumored 7000mAh+ battery is great news. Durability is also on the cards, with a possibility of a better IP68/IP69 rating for enhanced resistance against dust and water. Plus, a sturdy metal frame will surround the case of the device.

That said, things aren’t over yet regarding upcoming OnePlus devices. The report mentions a new OnePlus series, potentially labeled “Turbo.” The first device in this family will use Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8s Elite/Snapdragon 8 Plus “sub-flagship” chip. Recent rumors revealed that this chipset will offer performance comparable to the current Snapdragon 8 Elite.
