IPL: Bharat Arun appointed as bowling coach of Lucknow Super Giants
Former India bowling coach Bharat Arun has been appointed as the bowling coach of Indian Premier League (IPL) side Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Thursday.
LSG took to social media platform ‘X’ to announce the appointment. “A promising Indian attack, and Bharat Arun guiding them. We can’t wait to get started,” the post read.
Arun started his coaching career with the Tamil Nadu domestic team and became the chief bowling coach at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. He then took over as head coach of the India Under-19 squad, and under him, India won the U19 World Cup in 2012, in Australia. As a player, he represented India in Tests and ODIs and was a very successful domestic player for Tamil Nadu.
The 62-year-old, for the past few years was associated with Kolkata Knight Riders but after a poor eighth place finish in 2025, the Shah Rukh Khan-owned franchise is in the process of rejigging its coaching staff with Abhishek Nayar and Dwayne Bravo all set to call the shots.
Hence Chandrakant Pandit and Arun, the two veterans parted ways.
