Jason Momoa leaves fans stunned by shaving beard after six years

Jason Momoa shocked fans this week when he shaved off his famous beard for the first time in six years.

The Aquaman star shared the dramatic moment on Instagram, showing himself buzzing off his thick facial hair while talking to the camera.

“Haven’t shaved in six years, and here we are again,” he wrote in his caption, admitting he instantly regretted the change. 

The actor’s reaction after seeing his bare face was, “Goddammit, I hate it,” which left fans in stitches. which left fans thrilled.

“Your reaction to shaving is HILARIOUS,” one follower commented, while another joked, “That beard came off and gave us somebody entirely different.”

Momoa revealed that he shaved while promoting his water brand Mananalu, which he created in 2019.

However, he explained to his nearly 17 million followers, “I launched @mananalu to help eliminate single-use plastic.”

He continued, “Now, we’re taking it even further, partnering with our team at @Getboomerangwater to bring in a closed-loop system that sanitizes and bottles water onsite. That means even less waste, reduced shipping footprint, and our aluminum bottles get reused over and over. This is the future, and we’re starting in Hawai’i.”

Momoa urged fans to join his mission, saying, “Let’s get rid of single-use plastic. For our children and for our planet. All my aloha, j.”

He reflected in his video, “I think it’s been six years since I did [the movie] Dune. What was really special about that is that is when I started [growing my beard] and started launching Mananalu. At the time I think we were one of the first ones to release the aluminum bottle. And now, six years later, airports are banning single-use plastic. These positive things are happening.”

As he shaved on camera, Momoa said, “This is the kickoff,” making it clear he wanted to bring attention to the changes his brand is driving.

One fan praised his effort, writing, “He is beautiful no matter what. Thanks for using your platform for good.” Another added, “With or without the beard, you’re beautiful.”
