Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series offers Google’s Gemini as its default artificial intelligence-powered assistant. However, things could change with next year’s Galaxy S26, as Samsung has confirmed that Gemini won’t be the only AI assistant on these devices. If things go as planned, Samsung could equip the Galaxy S26 series of smartphones with multiple AI assistants.

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 could have more AI assistants, apart from Google’s Gemini

An earlier report last month indicated that Samsung could be planning to make a major investment in Perplexity AI, potentially replacing Google’s Gemini with the Perplexity AI chatbot. Now, during an interview with Bloomberg, Samsung President and Mobile eXperience COO Choi Won-Joon said that the company wants to offer users more choices with its upcoming flagship phones.

Choi confirmed that Samsung is “talking to multiple vendors” about integrating their AI assistants on the Galaxy S26 series of smartphones. So this isn’t just another “maybe it’ll happen” rumor. Choi told Bloomberg that “As long as these AI agents are competitive and can provide the best user experiences, we are open to any AI agent out there.”

By not limiting itself to a specific AI chatbot or service, Samsung will offer things that wouldn’t happen otherwise. It could be similar to Apple collaborating with ChatGPT to fill the areas its in-house Siri can’t handle. This would result in an improved overall AI experience for Samsung users.

Samsung devices apparently have an AI framework, and different AI agents and AI assistants can work with that framework. So, the Galaxy S26 series could have OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Perplexity, or more AI assistants, apart from Google’s Gemini and Samsung’s Bixby. It’s worth mentioning that there’s no guarantee that these deals will pan out.

Samsung still hasn’t decided on the Galaxy S26’s processor

Furthermore, the report suggests that Samsung hasn’t yet decided whether to equip the Galaxy S26 series with an Exynos 2600 SoC or Qualcomm’s next-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor. Choi said that the company looks at multiple factors, like performance and power consumption of a processor, before powering its phone with it.

Assuming Samsung continues using a dual chipset strategy, we can expect both the Exynos 2600 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. We can only speculate at the moment, since nothing is official. Samsung isn’t launching the Galaxy S26 series anytime soon, so a lot can change in time.
