Soha Ali Khan swears by starting her day with raw garlic for its surprising health benefits.
Soha Ali Khan shares her morning wellness secret, one raw garlic clove a day!
On July 30, Soha Ali Khan shared a wellness tip with her Instagram followers that’s equal parts simple and powerful: she’s started eating a raw clove of garlic first thing in the morning. According to the actor, this tiny change has delivered significant health benefits.
Known for her dedication to fitness often documented through her energising workout videos on social media, Soha’s latest lifestyle tweak adds to her growing list of clean, conscious habits.
She took to Instagram to share a video of herself eating a raw garlic pod. she writes, “So for the past four weeks I have been starting my mornings with a little bite — of raw garlic 🧄✨
Why? Because this tiny clove is a powerhouse for immunity, gut health, inflammation, and overall balance. It’s ancient wisdom that still holds strong 💪🏼”
She added, “I take one raw clove on an empty stomach, chew for as long as I can to activate the magic compound allicin (tell me your best time!) and then swallow with water. If you are not brave enough to chew you can crush it and let it rest for ten minutes.”
She adds a word of caution: it’s not for everyone—those on blood thinners, with sensitive stomachs, or undergoing surgery should check with their doctor first.
In her post, she didn’t shy away from the most obvious downside of the practice. “PS: Yes, the garlic breath is real, but so are the benefits,” she wrote candidly, adding a quick fix: “So I suggest a good brushing of the teeth and a healthy dose of mouthwash after.”
So, what exactly can this strong-smelling superfood do for your body? Raw garlic is packed with allicin, a natural compound known for its powerful medicinal properties. Eating it on an empty stomach may help boost immunity, improve digestion, reduce inflammation, support heart health, regulate blood pressure, and even contribute to better skin. While it may not be the easiest habit to adopt, the rewards—according to both Ayurveda and modern nutrition—are well worth it.
