Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack at the opposition parties for disrupting External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s address in Lok Sabha on Monday, saying they would rather believe some foreign country than the country’s own foreign minister.
As opposition parties interrupted Jaishankar’s speech, Shah got up and said, “They (Opposition) don’t have faith in an Indian Foreign Minister, but they have faith in some other country. I can understand the importance of foreigners in their party, but that does not mean that they should impose this on House proceedings.”
“This is the reason why they are sitting there (opposition benches), and will remain sitting there for the next 20 years,” the Home Minister further said.
